Boxing Day?

I made these little bags as Christmas gifts for my friends. Filled with these. Mostly I'm excited about the fabric. Marimekko scraps I found at the Crate and Barrel outlet for 95 cents. Super clean, pretty and cheap. It's like me in a fabric. Tutorial here.

Mmmmm,...exhaustion.

Things I think are easy and end up exhausting me: I found the recipe at Bakerella and thought, "food processor + microwave = super easy. I am now laying in my bed. Trying to engage my brain enough to type this. Part of it is that halfway through, I caught Hartwell "cleaning" by dipping a magic eraser into Barkley's water and wiping the wood floor. And the new sofa. Which, in the course of 5 days, has been vomited on, pooped on, scratched, and Sharpie-d. Do sit down.

I still have to make the oreo truffles.  I think I need a nap. But first, I need to go buy a new oven mitt. What the hell happened to that one? It's all I can see in this photo.

I ended up with a bunch of extra chocolate so I dipped Peppermint JoeJoe's:

Peanut Butter: Definition: Make the boy go loco

I am a very stubborn person. As such, I try not to give in to every whim of my children. And yet...cute faces, tired voices, sometimes...

Peanut Butter and Jelly with Chocolate Syrup:

At least he ate dinner...

I said, "NO sugar!"

Today after our mall lunch of veggie dogs on a stick, we wandered into Borders. Baby Bee destroyed a book at his friends' house so we went looking for a book. As we were waiting to pay. Hartwell spotted some chocolate, or "goggi," as he calls it. He'd been relatively good today so I bought a bar of chocolate. I gave him a piece when we got to the car and then gave myself a piece. Then I reasoned that I can't possibly allow my 2 1/2 year old to eat HALF a chocolate bar! That's way too much sugar! I better eat the rest! I must take the sugar bullet for my sugar pie!
I use that reasoning a lot.
